Redistribution Summary
In 2024, the AEC announced Hasluck would undergo significant changes to its boundaries following the introduction of a new seat in Perth’s East. This meant Hasluck lost the Perth Hills and shifted westward to include the major suburbs of Beechboro, Noranda, and Bassendean.
Hasluck now covers just 258 km2 as opposed to the 1,192 km2 before the redistribution.
These boundary changes take effect on the day of the Federal election in 2025.
This means that if you live in Kalamunda, you will vote in the new seat of Bullwinkel, if you live in Bassendean, you will vote in Hasluck.
What Are Hasluck’s Boundaries Now?
The borders of Hasluck are situated East of Tonkin Highway (except to include Noranda and Morley – South of Reid Hwy and North of Morley Drive), North of Great Eastern Highway Bypass, and follows West of Roe Highway, Toodyay Rd, and the Baskerville locality boundary. The northernmost boundary is Maralla Rd, near The Vines.
As a result, Hasluck is now firmly an outer metropolitan electorate, including the growing Midland to Ellenbrook corridor and the established residential zones of Bassendean, Kiara, and Noranda.
New additions to the electorate also include the beautiful Ashfield Flats along the Swan River and Grogan Swamp in Lockridge.
It consists of the Town of Bassendean, parts of the City of Belmont, the City of Bayswater, the City of Swan, and the Shire of Mundaring.
